Our team is diverse, with skillsets and responsibilities ranging from graphic design, content creation and performance marketing to internal communications and loyalty & rewards programs. We work together to provide expertise and guidance, so that the Staples brand is well represented in all areas. 

This position will be responsible for providing high-quality analytics for B2B marketing, sales strategies and campaigns. This role will deliver insights that help the business adjust current strategy and inform new strategies by building and communicating timely, insightful, and actionable analyses. This analyst will collaborate with key business partners to understand the business question, determine the best way to respond to the business question, then pull the data and structure the insights and recommendations that determine or inform a decision or action. This role requires extensive hands-on data experience as well as solid understanding of statistics and marketing. Understanding of B2B account based marketing and how marketing and sales coordinate strategies and campaigns is preferred.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of marketing campaign tests, including designing test, executing test plan, measuring test performance, communicating results, and providing guidance to stakeholders including senior leadership.
  • Maintain automated reporting of current business operating metrics, with a focus on developing the capability to provide actionable revenue impactful insights.
  • Provide timely insights and analytical support to different internal business stakeholders (including segment marketing, marketing operations, merchandising, sales, etc.) to support effective business decision-making.
  • Process and manipulate large amount of data from multiple databases.
  • Develop scripts to run routine jobs automatically to cut down manual processes to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in UAT of data mapping, metrics validation, and promoting user adoption.
  • Build relationships and work cross functionally with Marketing, Operations and Sales teams,
  • Define testing & learning objectives with business partners to build A/B test designs and develop solutions for data/reporting needs including pre-test analysis and synthesizing the results/recommendations.
  • Develop analytics framework to support the business problems from data acquisition to creating measurement methodology and tracking metrics.
  • Develop dashboards to provide insights and actionable information.
  • Communicate and explain complex measurement concepts and analytical results through use of visualization and storytelling.

What you bring to the table:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate to the senior executive level.
  • Proficient with relational databases and big data structure. Ability to identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors, to reconcile data from multiple sources.
  • Able to balance multiple analytical projects, partners, and timelines, to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiar with Email and Direct Mail Marketing Operations.
  • Strong understanding of data driven marketing, campaign analysis and customer analytics.
  • Strong problem structuring/solving skills – including data structuring, quantitative reasoning, and mathematical analysis to examine and interpret data.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience of data analysis, using quantitative analytics tool (SQL, R, Python etc.) as well as solid understanding of statistics and marketing.
  • 5+ years of customer analytics experience, preferably involving Email and Direct Mail Marketing.
  • Highly proficient use of SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint for data extraction, manipulation, and communication

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience leveraging Hadoop, Azure Data bricks, and Git
  • Understanding of B2B account based marketing and how marketing and sales coordinate strategies and campaigns is preferred.
