What You’ll Be Doing

Enterprise Data & Analytics Enablement  team employ tailored approach to support each LoB strategy and transform and accelerate the BI/Analytics (BIA) experience within CIBC. We are here to enable our business partners to seamlessly adopt data analytics tools, AI capabilities to make data-driven decisions in an efficient and secured manner.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer you will design and carry out the development of BI/AI solutions and services leveraging a wide variety of BI/AI tools. The incumbent will be responsible for data integration from multiple data sources, analyzing business needs and requirements, providing an informed opinion or recommendation on opportunities to optimize business intelligence for the benefit of our business partners, employees, and shareholders.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.  

How you’ll Succeed

• Support Analytics/AI Enablement Strategy – Lead and partner with Spoke Analytics teams, Enterprise Data Technology, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security and other business groups with a focus of fostering Data Analytics / AI research and innovation culture. Provide guidance, subject matter expertise and specialized recommendations to business partners in the area of effective consumption of CIBC's data, Analytics and AI tools - techniques to explore/analyze data,  visualization design and build, solution optimization, modeling.

• Support Data and Analytics initiatives - Design and build end to end  Analytics and AI solutions that includes data modeling, orchestration and pipeline services, data visualization,  and ML models utilizing various tools and cloud technology (Power BI, Databricks, Tableau, Alteryx, T-SQL, Azure and GCP). Consulting and upskilling the wider data teams and stakeholders on the tools within the semantic layer to promote self-service.

• Support Data and Analytics continuous improvement - Identify opportunities to automate, streamline processes that will bring in efficiency in data reporting and analytical environments, lessen manual intervention and increase end user efficiency. Represent Enterprise Data and Analytics Hub and consult on a wide range of enterprise initiatives related to Analytics and AI, ensuring recommendations are effective and efficient over the long term and meet the business objectives.

• Leadership- Provide leadership in designing data enablement rollout strategy by liaising with various lines of businesses, analytical groups, user base, technology, change management. Lead and partner with cross functional groups fostering BI/ Analytics research and innovation culture.

• Focus on Innovation and Simplification - Strive for continual enhancement of enablement processes and contribute to platform and governance process simplification.

• Relationship Management- Focus on building strong relationships with internal and external clients. Work collaboratively with teams across the bank to understand their data and analytical needs. Work with the teams to identify their data and analytical needs and provide appropriate support and recommendations.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate Practical knowledge and hands on experience in the area of Analytics Engineering, AI, Big Data, Cloud environment (Azure, GCP).

• You Have 5+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI,  T-SQL. Having exposure to Python, Vertex AI an asset.

• You Are a master storyteller – you possess presentation, interactive/analytical skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information utilizing methodologies as  Rapid BI, Design Thinking and Storytelling. Business analysis and consulting skills to precisely articulate & understand business challenges and goals that involve interpretation, analysis, assessment and implementation.
