This opening is on the Credit Card Test Design team within the Chief Data Scientist's Office at JPMorgan Chase.

As a Senior Associate Data Scientist within the Credit Card Test Design team, you will be primarily responsible for creating analytical test designs and measurement plans for the Credit Card business unit. Additionally, the team is also responsible for developing & promoting best in-class analytical methodologies, actively engaging and advising on critical analytical activities, establishing best practices and ensuring statistical validity of experiments, and promoting measurement consistency across lines of business. 

The Chief Data Scientist's Office is staffed with highly skilled individuals, most with PhDs and master’s degrees, who provide advanced analytical support to inform key strategic and tactical business decisions. The team is built around the pillars of innovation in applied data science and measurement consistency across businesses. Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Credit Card business unit to help develop analytically driven strategies and formalize short & long-term testing objectives
  • Use advanced data science methods to develop experimental test designs consistent with the learning agenda, statistical requirements, financial constraints, and operational constraints
  • Translate business goals into analytical requirements, leverage multiple data sources and apply advanced querying and data aggregation techniques to quantify each initiative in terms of targeted audience and corresponding KPIs
  • Document selection criteria, targeting methodology, target audience profiles, and financial assumptions; and communicate them to modeling, list, technology, channel & analysis teams 
  • Determine how existing analytical methodology can help solve various CCB business problems, and develop new analytical methodology where necessary
  • Keep up with current analytical / statistical trends through formal training, conference attendance, literature review, and vendor engagement

Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • 4-year degree, or equivalent, in a business or math curriculum, preferably statistics, engineering, finance, or economics
  • Excellent knowledge of descriptive analytic techniques with experience working with SQL, Excel, and large data sets
  • Knowledge of visualization techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Programming experience with Python, SAS, R, or similar languages
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills that allow clear and concise presentation of conclusions and recommendations to a variety of business audiences
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications, capabilities, and skills : 

  • Advanced Degree with a quantitative focus
  • Familiarity with design of experiment methodology and causal inference
  • Experience designing, executing, and/or analyzing real-world experiments
  • Work experience in the financial sector or other business environment
