Due to a growth in our workload, Hatch Digital is looking for an Intermediate Control Engineer to join our Perth team designing, developing, and commissioning software solutions to drive positive change and tackle the world’s toughest problems.  

 

The role is Perth based, where you’ll work as part of a global team realising solutions within Integrated Operations, Analytics and Decision Support, and Automation and Autonomous Execution – for example automating complex machinery or using cutting-edge AI to power critical decisions in the mining industry. 

 

The role places an emphasis on the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and will see you working in an exciting space where advanced control systems intersect through to business level systems, and where these systems are augmented through modern advanced technologies such as machine learning models. You’ll be involved throughout the full software development lifecycle, through ideation & design, development, testing, commissioning and support.

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Demonstrated work experience in a similar role, ideally in the mining and/or energy sectors 

  • Bachelors / Masters Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Software) or similar 

  • PLC coding experience  

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues and clients 

  • Willingness to travel to client work sites on occasions 

  • Sound approaches to defining, fault finding and resolving problems 

  • Permanent resident or citzen of Australia  

 

Your application will be strengthened by experience with:  

  • Rockwell Studio 5000 

  • HMI / SCADA  

  • Citect SCADA, Rockwell Factorytalk View 

  • Software coding  

  • SQL, C#.NET / VB.NET, Python, Javascript
