Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Agile Product Owner to join our dynamic team at Old Mutual Investment Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data and business intelligence (BI) work streams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products in an agile environment.

Key result areas

• Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for data and BI initiatives.
• Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams, to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
• Sprint Planning and Execution: Lead sprint planning sessions, define sprint goals, and ensure the team delivers high-quality increments.
• Data and BI Focus: Oversee the development and implementation of data and BI solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and drive value.
• Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data and BI initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing processes and implementing best practices.

Requirements: skills, qualifications and experience required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, with a focus on data and BI projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
• Proficiency in data analysis, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and data management platforms.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification preferred.
• Experience in the asset management or financial services industry.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
• Knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
