We are looking for a Sr. Data Analyst to join our Claims Data and Analytics team!

The Senior Data Analyst will be providing data to support the Claims business which includes data mining, automated reporting and modelling.

What you'll do:

  • Transformation of complex data sets into conclusions & recommendations, delivering proactive analysis on historical performance and advising decision making

  • Develop innovative solutions for pattern recognition using machine learning and statistical approaches

  • Maintenance of growing set of data mining tools, frameworks & approaches

  • Communicate practical recommendations based on insights/model results

  • Driving co-ordination/delivery accountability of project and BAU delivery based on timelines & direction

  • Driving conformance/Alignment to IT/Enterprise Architecture standards and corporate wide Data standards (where applicable)

What you'll bring:

  • A university degree in computer-science or engineering, math, statistics, physics or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience with model development and working with large datasets. This can include experience from any industry.

  • Experience in SAS, Python or R with good grasp of software engineering standard methodologies such as code-reusability, modularity, use of repos, etc.is an asset

  • CIP or other Claims professional qualification an asset

  • Experience with SQL, Hue, Qlik Sense and Spark/Impala/Hive

  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Basic (VBA), including macro writing and automation

  • Expertise in machine learning theory and predictive modelling lifecycle (an asset)

  • API configuration

  • Strong project management skills/experience

  • Strong communication ability to influence and communicate across all areas of the business. A pragmatic approach to deliver on strategy execution

  • Claims operational experience across all lines of business is an asset – applying MI to understand and drive continuous Claims performance improvement (preferred)

  • Experience and credibility working with Senior Executives.

  • Experience leading and supporting change initiatives

  • Project management experience

  • Experience working in a matrix and /or complex partner environment a definite asset
