Job Summary
Software Engineer - Vector Database Ecosystem
We are looking for a Software Engineer to work on building out ecosystem applications and client SDKs for Aerospike Vector Search, a vector search database. The role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining critical tools, applications, integrations, examples, and infrastructure for Aerospike Vector Search. . You will have opportunities to work with exciting new technologies such as Aerospike, HNSW vector search, Langchain, distributed systems, and the AI/ML space in general. Additionally, you will own and maintain open-source projects, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams to optimize performance, useability, and product visibility.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of multiple open source client SDKs, tools, and infrastructure to support Aerospike Vector Search..
- Design, develop, and maintain user friendly, open source, client SDKs. .
- Build distributed tools for monitoring and managing high performance distributed systems
- Collaborate with Product Managers and teams to design user friendly and efficient features and tools.
- Analyze and optimize system efficiency, reliability, and performance for large-scale data ecosystems.
- Work with distributed vector similarity search algorithms, indices, and integrate AI/ML pipelines at scale.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing and building backend systems, preferably in databases and/or distributed systems.
- Strong skills in programming languages such as Python, Go and Java…
- Understanding of data infrastructure, backend systems, and cloud-based technologies.
- Experience with distributed NoSQL databases and big data ecosystems.
- Knowledge of vector databases, AI/ML pipelines, and optimization techniques using hardware acceleration.
- Familiarity with Langchain, TensorFlow, or PyTorch is a plus.
- Self-starter with curiosity to learn and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Nice to have:
- Experience with vector databases and distributed NoSQL systems.
- Experience with AI/ML pipelines at scale.
- Some frontend experience
