Service Data Analytics and Reporting Manager

At the centre of a data driven organisation is the data itself. The aim of the Data Reporting & Analysis team is to ensure that excellent service, quality and value for money is delivered through the delivery of high-quality data organised to describe the customer experience and cost to serve.

The core responsibility of the role is to produce a suite of data and visualisation products for the director and each of the functional areas within customer service. Furthermore, they are accountable for the strategy of continual improvement and development of these products. 

As the bridge to the business a key requirement of the Operation Performance team is to communicate and visualise data in an informative and engaging manor that helps drives good decisions, actions and outcomes. The Operational Performance team are owners of the visualisation strategy and design grammar and are accountable for the quality of data visualisation across the wider Data Reporting & Analysis team. 

What you’ll be doing

• Effective management of your workstack and development priorities and timescales.
• Development the visualisation and visual analytics strategy for the Data Reporting & Analysis Team 
• Has the delegated authority of the quality of the production of dashboards in the Data Reporting & Analysis Team within the visualisation tool of choice from the Senior Manager – Service Data Reporting and Analysis
• Managing the relationship and deliveries from the Enterprise Insights Team specifically regard Tableau
• Providing detailed and quality requirements for additions and improvements to the MMP into the Data and Applications Team 
• Accountable for the migration of tactical reporting within the Service Organisation to the strategic MMP data products
• To act as the bridge between the Service Organisation and the Data Reporting & Analysis team, helping them translate their need and problems into data requirements and solutions
• Work across the Enterprise Data team to encourage usage, understanding and adoption of the MMP
• Accountable for the accuracy and reliability of the operational performance suite of strategic data product

You'll have the following skills and experience

• Excellent Data SQL (either BigQuery Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle PL/SQL) knowledge and experience
• Understanding of data modelling techniques
• Understanding of Business Products and Services (Business and Public Sector and Wholesale)
• Strong organisational skills, to manage conflicting demands on time by taking a ruthless approach to prioritisation
• Strong Communication skills, with the ability to create clear delivery plans, aligning the team whilst motivating / empowering matrix teams to deliver
• Experience of working with very effective data applications
• Experience of working with contractors on commercial terms.
• High awareness of BT’s regulatory environment and the broader industry and in which we operate especially data regulation.
• Experience of identifying and mitigating data quality issues ensuring the accuracy and validity of our data.
• Experience of building strong data delivery plans.
   

Preferable

• Experience with Qlik
• Experience with interacting with service-oriented platforms (SOAP and ReSTful APIs)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
