Industry Data Analyst

Location: Ireland or the UK (Office-based, Hybrid, or Home-based)

Reporting to the Market Intelligence Director, we are seeking an Industry Data Analyst to aggregate and model external industry data sources into a single source of truth. Working with the MI Director to create a single source of truth within Bentley Systems in relation to industry size and growth trajectory. This role is critical in creating a platform for strategic decisions to be built on when looking at the market opportunity and market share of Bentley Systems and its competitors.

The role will include the use of external data sets and aggregation of internal knowledge to build a single viewpoint on the market size today and model future market potential, based on macro and micro economic factors. A focus on visual representation of data is critical in enabling a wide variety of internal customers to access and utilize the data in an easy-to-consume manner.

Your Day-to-Day:

Data analysis and insight generation

• Use both primary and secondary data sources to produce data-based analysis on opportunities within the infrastructure software market.
• Be responsible for reporting and dashboard creation with a focus on internal client accessibility.
• Work with the MI Director to develop a standardized approach to market modelling and forecasting to enable the Bentley Systems business to better predict future market trends and opportunities.
• Turn analysis into clear actionable insight that can be delivered to clients in both live dashboards but also static presentations and reports.

Data gathering, preparation, and management

• Cleanse and prepare unstructured data for analysis.
• Augment the data with internal and external benchmarks.

Modelling and data visualization

• Use reporting and analytics tools to create visuals and dashboards for ongoing tracking and self-service insight access across the business in PowerBI or Snowflake.
• Use statistical modelling to build out future projections and determine the efficacy and relationship of data sets.

Stakeholder engagement

• Support the MI Director with internal and external stakeholder engagement to define requirements and project priorities.

What You Bring to The Team:

This role involves having the following key skills and competencies, namely:

• Proven data analysis experience (at least 3 years) with past roles relatable to Market Intelligence.
• Experience in shaping data sets for use in BI platforms and experience building BI dashboards for data presentation.
• Analytical, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborative, communicative, and confident.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work and able to prioritise your workload.
• Experience in data modelling and relationship-based analysis.
• Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
