Your Role and Responsibilities

An IBM Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions for businesses.
They possess expert-level knowledge of various cloud platforms, including IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Key responsibilities include migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud, optimizing application performance, ensuring data privacy and security, automating infrastructure deployment, and guiding stakeholders in adopting cloud practices.
Additionally, IBM Cloud Engineers collaborate closely with architects, developers, and DevOps professionals to ensure seamless integration between cloud environments and on-premise systems.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably IBM Cloud)
Familiarity with containerization technologies ( Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong understanding of serverless architectures and orchestration
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash)
Version control system experience (Git)
Understanding of security best practices and encryption methods
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
DevOps methodologies and Agile workflows
Data science and machine learning concepts
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches
Container security and vulnerability scanning
Networking and load balancing protocols
Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Perl, or Java
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
Cloud certifications (IBM Certified Cloud Developer, IBM Certified Solution Architect etc.)
