Job Description

Do you have a knack for transforming complex data into actionable insights? Our company is looking for an Associate Director Data Scientist to bolster our Animal Data Science team. This role goes beyond the typical desk job, offering you the chance to work in synergy with an eclectic team of data scientists, data managers, domain experts, developers, and technologists. You will play a pivotal role in researching and applying artificial intelligence, data science, and advanced statistics to transform trillion of data points coming from millions of connected animals into tangible actionable insights for our customers. Your Core Responsibilities 

  • In this role, you will get to work closely with our species-specific Centre of Expertise (COE) for livestock, fostering a logical and multidisciplinary collaborative function. 

  • You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of data science to use-cases that have been prioritized by the business, creating a tangible real-world impact. 

  • Harnessing the power of our unique real-world data, you will extract, interpret, and serve insights, predictions, recommendations, and standards to our Animal Health end customers. 

  • You will be entrusted with leveraging the latest AI and Data Science technology, as well as advancing their state of the art, for real-world impact. 

Who You Are 

We realise it’s difficult to cover all the below requirements, so we encourage you to apply even with a partial match: 

  • 5-7 years of Data Science experience, preferably within the Animal Health domain, showcasing a balance between academia and industry. 

  • Comprehension of animal health, whether from personal or professional experience, is crucial for effectively interpreting data and making business decisions that will influence our products.

  • Proficiency in at least 2 general-purpose programming languages, preferably Python and R.

  • Experience with at least 3 of the following: sensor data, time series data, machine learning, animal data, neural networks, statistics, biostatistics, streaming data, A/B testing, linear algebra. 

  • A degree or advanced degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related fields; PhD preferred. 

  • A tracked record of solving real-world, impact-driven data science problems. 

  • Experience working with global teams, excellent communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and fluency in English are prerequisites. 

Nice to have, but not essential: 

  • Experience with medical devices and/or IoT 

  • Familiarity with at least 1 of the following: Databricks, Snowflake, Dataiku, AWS
