Technical Data Product Owner

Overview of the role:  

We are looking for a Technical Data Product Owner to join our dynamic and innovative Data & Analytics tribe.  

As a key team member, you will work closely with stakeholders on key technology change initiatives, helping us to modernise our Data Products in AWS, unlocking scope for further positive business impact. We have a high-performing Data Product team and are keen on colleagues contributing wider than their core remit. 

The role reports into the Head of Product Data and is based in Hyderabad. This role follows our hybrid approach to work – a mixture of office and home working. Our modern office space is equipped with working and leisure areas and meeting rooms. We regularly host social and well-being events. With in-house snacks, meal, fruit and drinks (with in-house Free meal to all employees). The office has stylish art and photography designed to convey the energy and excitement of a gaming experience – it is perfect for our growing community of employees. 

What you’ll do :   

  • Lead your squad to deliver value in a fast-paced working environment, ensuring they’re aligned to organisational goals and ways of working  

  • Be the key point-of-contact between stakeholders and squad(s), helping to create transparency in product / initiative progress  

  • Build and maintain a vision and roadmap for products in your defined area, bringing excitement and engagement from your stakeholders  

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, and manage various pipelines of work      

  • Support key product deliveries, and ensure effective communication with interested parties where their feedback has been considered   

  • Manage a backlog, and prioritise work aligned with squad, tribe and organisational goals  

  • Manage the product lifecycle (identify, design, deliver, launch, support, decommission, etc.), and continuously monitor success  

  • Decompose business requirements to define epics, user stories, etc. to help your team grasp work to be delivered    

  • Lead product (end-user) documentation, ensuring assets are widely understood and adopted  

  • Mentor others in effective product delivery, and ways-of-working   

 

What you’ll bring:  

  • You have experience working as a Product Owner / Manager, or you’re from an engineering background looking to break into Product  

  • You have experience working with Cloud providers i.e. AWS 

  • You are comfortable with technical domains such as: observability, CICD, automation, DevOps, hosting, streaming, data quality, APIs, etc.     

  • You have experience of Agile Scrum/Kanban methodology – you are comfortable with writing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, definition of done, etc.  

  • You are an effective communicator, both verbal and written   

  • You are a problem solver, and can utilise a variety of business analysis techniques 

  • You can successfully manage a large, and demanding set of stakeholders   

  • You have a delivery mindset, and a laser focus on getting results   

  • You find it easy to assimilate knowledge, and share this with others   

  • You have a history of building working relationships to get things delivered  

  • You are a self-starter. You are proactive, energetic, and motivated to add value
