The Business Unit Hydro Power Plants Germany operates and maintains the largest German storage portfolio and is active in all short-term power markets. The fleet of pump storage plants is an integral part of the energy transition, offering both flexibility and reliability to the system.

Stellenbeschreibung

We, the Data Innovation team, develop and operate our own Databricks centered platform to provide actionable insights, aiming to transform our portfolio and support fossil freedom. By leveraging data, we identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce emissions, and align strategies with organizational goals. Through continuous learning and new analytical techniques, we drive innovation, ensuring informed decision-making and tangible results.

As Data Analyst you are responsible for independently implementing solutions to gain new insights. This involves not only using various analytical tools on the data platform but also contributing to its development in collaboration with the Senior Technology Architect, Senior Data Engineers, and Senior Data Scientists.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical support to address operational challenges and improve the commercial performance of the Business unit/Business area and the company.
  • Apply statistical methods to extract meaningful insights from data.
  • Embed yourself in business teams, addressing their challenges with data-driven insight
  • Communicate analytical results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify new data sources to enhance the depth and variety of analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data.
  • Develop clear visualizations and interactive dashboards for complex data analysis.
  • Regularly monitor key performance indicators to ensure goal achievement.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support short-term business decisions.
  • Maintain data models to support reporting and analysis requirements.
  • Manipulate data effectively using SQL and Python.
  • Proactively identify and resolve data-related challenges.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through careful review and validation.
  • Automate recurring analysis tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Document data analysis processes, methods, and outcomes.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and data protection regulations when handling sensitive data.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong time management skills

Qualifikationen

Your Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for conducting meaningful data analyses.
  • Industry knowledge of energy markets and asset optimization for relevant analysis.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python for effective data manipulation; Spark experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with query and database systems to support analysis processes.
  • Experience in creating impactful visualizations to convey data insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and methods for data interpretation and analysis.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to align data analysis with business goals (business acumen).
  • Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and development in data analysis.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and share insights.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach to address data-related challenges.
  • Adaptability to changing data sources and evolving business needs.
  • Commitment to ethical data practices and adherence to data privacy regulations.
  • Efficient time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
