The traineeship begins on 1st of April 2025 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.

What you will do:

•  Shape with us the future of energy!🔋Gain insights into the daily business of a Data Engineer and work on e.g. Data Management, Modelling and Visualization
• Work on different operational and/or strategic tasks and take on responsibility from day one
• The first assignment will take place at Group IT 💻, where you will
  • Implement data pipelines using Databricks on Axpo’s data platform.
  • Ingest data from various sources based on real business use cases.
  • Provide and improve reusable data products for the organization.
  • Contribute to internal coding standards and make reusable code available.
  • Ensure data quality through code testing and continuous improvement.

• The second and third assignment are in the area of your interest, e.g. at Group IT, Trading & Sales, or even at our subsidiary CKW or at an international Axpo Hub.

What you bring & who you are:

• University/FH Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Data Science (no more than 2 years of post-graduation professional experience). 🎓
• Proficiency in Python (incl. Pandas) and SQL. Experience in pyspark, Fast API or siminal is a plus
• Knowledge in ETL Tools and basic understanding of GIT for version control is a plus
• Knowledge of data modelling, data transformation and data visualization
• Basic know-how of cloud platform (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Analytical skills, attention to details, eagerness to learn new technologies and able to explain technical concepts in simple terms-

You will work in the office in Baden, with the flexibility to work from home as well. The fixed traineeship salary is CHF 86’000 per year, including several attractive fringe benefits.
