At Gridcog, we are on an environmental mission. A mission to accelerate investment in the clean energy transition. We are a team of energy natives. Our simulation software allows our clients to model and track the many physical and commercial nuances of their energy projects and invest in the energy transition faster and with more confidence.

We were founded in Australia and have been active in the UK and Europe since mid 2023, we’re growing rapidly in this part of the world and are looking for a passionate Energy Analyst to join our awesome London team. Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Energy Analyst who will bridge the technical and commercial aspects of our business. You will work closely with our customers in the UK and Europe, and also with our sales, marketing, data science and product engineering teams. You will bring your expert knowledge of GB and/or European energy markets and clean energy project development to help drive our growth in the region.

What you’ll do as an Energy Analyst:

  • Become a technical expert in the Gridcog modelling software for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Onboard new clients, providing expert modelling support, and responding to technical queries
  • Proactively monitor client modelling to ensure optimal utilisation of their pilot/subscription
  • Help maintain our Library of energy market prices, network tariffs, and project cost assumptions
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments both in the UK and in Europe
  • Support the marketing team by writing blogs and producing video content to share Gridcog's industry insights
  • Support the product team in coming up with new ideas for the software, and acting as an industry expert
  • Support the business development team by answering technical queries from prospective customers

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A passionate interest in the energy transition, with a growth mindset, and strong intrinsic motivation
  • Some professional experience in the GB or European power sector (this could in relation to electricity retailing, trading, energy market analysis, renewable project development, consulting or e-mobility and electrification)
  • Some knowledge of GB or European energy markets, you will understand different commercial options available to clean energy technologies like solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging
  • Very strong analytical skills, with some prior hands-on experience in tools such as Excel, Tableau, Python, or R.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong sense of customer empathy

We’d also love it if you have:

  • Familiarity with one or more energy markets outside of the UK
  • Fluency in another European language - in particular Dutch, German or French.
  • Practical hands on experience in energy project modelling.
  • Engaging and persuasive writing and presentation prowess.
