On behalf of our client, ELPEDISON, we are looking to recruit a Long-Term Energy Analyst.

This role offers a direct contractual association with Elpedison, ensuring that you become an integral part of our client's payroll and contribute your skills to their esteemed organization. Please be aware that our role is exclusively focused on overseeing the recruitment process.

The Long-Term Energy Analyst focuses primarily on helping to implement the company’s energy long-term business and secondarily to support the desk’s commodities trading activities. As part of the responsibilities, a Long-Term Energy Analyst actively participate in the development of analytics and infrastructure and therefore we are looking for a highly analytical person with competency in data analysis, math and statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quantitative analysis to provide rolling forecasts for electricity prices, mid-term plans and strategic planning of the company.
  • Analyzes large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Develops analytic tools to facilitate operations.
  • Estimates productions and economics for the Company’s asset portfolio.
  • Assists in the development and creation of medium and long-term strategies that help the Company to achieve power business and development objectives.
  • Participates in processes for retail/wholesale hedge portfolio.
  • Analyzes sets of data to quantify profit and support decision-making related to the company’s portfolio.
  • Regularly interacts with teams internally to discuss strategies, business implications, and market developments, which affect the power business.
  • Monitors weather, load, price behavior, transmission constraints/outages, and generation outages to identify risks to the company position and take appropriate actions to mitigate portfolio risk.
  • Identifies needs for Long Term Electricity Cross-border Trading, communicates with counterparties and reviews contractual process.

Requirements

  • BSc in Engineering or Mathematics
  • MSc in related field will be highly desirable
  • At least 2-5 years of proven experience in the energy sector
  • Knowledge in R and/or Python or any statistical software will be an asset
  • Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
  • Excellent user of MS Office Suite, with specialization in MS Excel
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral
  • Strong quantitative, analytic, modelling, pricing and risk management skills
  • Self-drive and motivation
  • Interest in applying technology and quantitative skills to solve complex trading problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions
