We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing Power BI reports, ensuring optimal UI/UX design. This position requires expertise in creating and optimizing DAX expressions and managing Power BI dataflows and reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in business requirements discovery through a variety of techniques such as work sessions, meetings, and interviews
  • Analyze client’s complex business requirements/user stories and processes serving as input to PowerBI reporting and get concurrence through iterative client meetings following human-centered design principles
  • Manage, develop, and create reports and dashboards in the  PowerBI  using data collected from a variety of input sources such as Snowflake etc
  • Assist in root cause analysis, investigating any data errors or anomalies in the implementation of solutions to correct data problems
  • Develop functional, analytical, and technical aptitude, perform creative problem-solving, and critical business process integration capabilities showing a deep understanding of business requirements.
  • Able to breakdown requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Perform data mining on large data sets
  • Demonstrate experience with large volume data processing using databases and spreadsheets
  • Analyze business applications and systems in close collaboration with customers, users and project leads to determine PowerBI reporting requirements
  • Write detailed requirements for Power BI reporting related Epics/Feature/Stories and able to transition them into acceptable criteria
  • Develop PowerBI reporting based on functional and non-functional testable business requirements/user stories and present work products frequently for customer feedback to ensure clear understanding of desired business value and customer expectations
  • Coordinate with the technical development team to ensure complete understanding of functional requirements/user stories to determine customer needs
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for PowerBI reporting
  • Provide consistent, traceable, recoverable and extensible solutions to reduce delays
  • Keep up with the latest and greatest in Power BI and continuously incorporate learnings into solutions
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement; 
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; 
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer. 

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in Data Analytics
  • Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate preferred.
  • Experienced in creating and managing Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports.
  • Experienced at data visualization and advance calculations (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table) using Power BI.
  • Experienced in connecting Microsoft Power BI to SQL Server data sources.
  • Experienced in creating different visualizations using Slicers, Lines, Pies, Histograms, Maps, Scatter, Ribbons, Heat Maps, etc.
  • Experienced in Power BI UI/UX optimization.
  • Experienced in creating DAX expressions.
  • Experienced in generating Drill through and Drill down reports with drop down menu option, sorting data, and defining subtotals in Power BI.
  • Experience using advanced Power BI functionality
  • Experience using  Snowflake as the data warehouse

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or Information Technology

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time); 
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;  
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions; 
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and 
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes. 

 

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range$82,471—$145,000 USD
