Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa, with over 150 million customers in 50+ countries. We’re a global team of more than 100 nationalities joined on a common mission – to make cities for people, not cars. And we need you to make it happen!

About the role

You will be building models to estimate the food preparation time at various stages of the order, such as before and after the order has been accepted. You will also be developing complex demand forecasting pipelines for our Bolt Market dark stores. You will be involved in creating simulations to understand the impact of varying market conditions on our business metrics.

Your daily adventures will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Data Analysts, Data Egineers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers, to gain a deep understanding of business needs and create end-to-end technical solutions for them.
  • Deploying and validating solutions for millions of users, enabling fast feedback and measurable added value to customers.
  • Rapidly deploying models to production environments using AWS and internal machine learning platforms, leveraging a toolkit that includes Python, Spark, Presto, Docker, SageMaker, and Airflow for efficient data processing and model deployment.
  • Engaging in regular knowledge exchange with Data Scientists across all seniority levels, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes learning and innovation.
  • Solving real-world problems on a wide variety of tasks, such as ranking, textual search, recommendation, user clustering, pricing, delivery time estimation, dispatching, and demand/supply balancing.
  • Applying the most advanced techniques, such as deep learning, gradient boosting, causal inference, mathematical optimization, dimensionality reduction, time series forecasting, and more.

About you:

  • You have 3 years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, ideally in product development within a technology-focused company.
  • You’re skilled in Python programming, leveraging key libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and OR-tools for data analysis and modelling, with practical experience in statistical hypothesis testing.
  • You have a proactive mindset, a willingness to take initiative and work with little supervision, and enthusiasm for collaborating with different roles in product, analytics, and engineering to identify problems, explore trends, and discover growth opportunities.
  • You exhibit well-coordinated teamwork and good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, enabling clear collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • You have some hands-on experience in building ML systems from end to end, including testing, monitoring, scaling, and measuring the impact.
  • You will get extra credits for product development experience in a technology company, familiarity with any cloud systems or experience with regression tasks and  complex experimentation.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying if you feel you’re the kind of person described above!
