The Analytics Engineer will be a strategic partner to numerous internal and cross-functional teams and will empower the organization with high-quality reusable data models.

About us

With over 150 million customers in 45+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa. And it's all thanks to our people.

We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, or disability.

Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission!

About the role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer in the Customer Support team, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the foundational data layer that powers our analytics. Your role involves translating business metrics and concepts into scalable and maintainable data models, while adhering to best practices in system design and architecture. You will work closely with operational stakeholders to prioritize and align data modeling efforts with long-term business needs, building foundation for downstream decision-making and operational efficiency.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain data marts in dbt.
  • Set up and manage the architecture, documentation, and key data transformations for in-house (our own product data) and third-party tools data (for both core and semantic models in dbt). Gradually refactor historically scattered customer support data flow into modularized and reusable data transformations in dbt
  • Work closely with operational stakeholders and data analysts to prioritize and align data modeling roadmaps, ensuring data solutions meet long-term scalable business needs
  • Manage third-party data ingestion with self-service tooling (Fivetran) for a limited number of use-cases
  • Make sure both core and semantic models support operational analysis by analysts for decision making
  • Develop and maintain the semantic layer for operational data in dbt, including reusable metrics. Follow system design and architectural best practices to ensure data integrity and efficiency across all processes. Ensure high-performance, scalable, reliable and maintainable data transformations. Oversee data quality and consistency across the analytics layer (incl. with proper tests coverage and alerting). Be a liaison between the CS analytics team and the data platform team

About you:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or Business
  • At least 3 years of significant experience in developing analytics architecture and data modeling, working with large volumes of data and demonstrating tangible impact in the area
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and Spark, experience in leveraging tools such as Apache Airflow and dbt for effective data orchestration and data transformation at scale
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools, particularly dbt, with a focus on reusability, maintainability, reliability, and scalability. Excellent knowledge of system design and architectural best practices
  • Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
  • Self-service data ingestion experience (e.g. with Fivetran) would be an advantage. Previous exposure to BI tools (e.g. Looker or Tableau) would be an advantage. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a demonstrated ability to align data modeling efforts with operational priorities.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!
