Software Solutions Engineer (3840)

As a Software Solutions Engineer at OA, you play a critical role in the development and deployment of products through various stages of maturity – Minimum Viable Demos (MVDs), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and Operational Products. You work closely with business development, system architects, product owners, software developers, and customers to ensure that our software solutions meet current and future business needs and are scalable, reliable, and highly performant. Technical expertise and ability to translate complex operational concepts into practical software solutions is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead and actively assist in design, development, and implementation of scalable remote sensing software solutions.
• Product Development: Collaborate with product managers and developers to align technical solutions with business requirements and product roadmaps. Specific emphasis on MVDs and MVPs to drive rapid development and customer engagement.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to gather requirements, identify technical needs, and propose solutions that meet business objectives.
• Software Development: Actively develop software solutions. Work with software architects on platform architecture guidance, coding standards, testing practices, and optimization techniques.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with teams such as sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure seamless integration of software products and customer success.
• Innovation: Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve our development practices and product roadmaps.
• Business Development: Collaborate on whitepaper and proposal writing as appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Clearance Required: DOD Secret
• This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. Interim or Active DOD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
• Due to the clearance requirement, U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Candidate also must agree to participate in a background screen.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of experience is required
  • Advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience
• Working knowledge/skills in C++, Java, Python, JS/TS, and ReactJS.
• Working knowledge/skills in Docker, K8s, and Helm

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in product development or product management.
• Prior experience working with SaaS platforms or enterprise-level software solutions.
• Experience with Geospatial software and analysis
• Experience in Visible, Infrared, Radar, Synthetic Aperture Radar remote sensing data processing
• Experience with machine learning (supervised and unsupervised), training, operational implementations, and MLOps
• Certification in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified, etc.).

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:$136,700—$205,100 USD
