This is a great opportunity for DevOps Engineer interested in providing key contributions in a growing business.  As a member of the Data Science Software R&D Team in the Advanced Compute Solutions (ACS) group, you will help deliver world-class hardware and software solutions to data science customers via a variety of software and cloud platforms.

This position is in Fort Collins, CO, Palo Alto, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage automated build pipeline, deployments, and configurations using CI/CD pipelines in AWS for applications and services

  • Create and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure for the HP DS Stack, Stack Applications & DS Platform.

  • Build and release SW Engineering tools for Data and Source code repositories and for deployment of the automation tools

  • Demonstrate mastery of software engineering principles and methodologies including source control, branch management, build and smoke testing, and archive and retention practices

  • Create and maintain infrastructure for local, on-premises and cloud applications monitoring, logging, and alerting

  • Respond to real-time scaling and operational challenges

  • Manage multiple environments using proper access controls and processes to maintain environment integrity

  • Follow security policies and best practices for the infrastructure and products

  • Work with developers to ensure best practices and proper utilization of resources to control AWS cloud hosting costs

  • Document and establish standards for best practices

  • Ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and up-time of the systems/subsystems/software applications in local, network and cloud-based platforms

  • Collaborate and communicates with management and internal partners regarding software projects progress, and issue resolution.

  • Represents the software applications engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.

 Qualifications:

  • Experience in deployment of cloud-based services, architectures, and platforms 

  • Hands-on containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) experience.

  • AWS experience (EC2, RDS, IAM, Lambda, SQS, SNS..)

  • Cloud monitoring and/or dashboarding experience​.

  • Experience in adapting existing applications to work in the cloud.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more (Bash, Python 3.x, Go lang,​ Groovy, Terraform).

  • In-depth understanding of SDLC, branching strategies, source control (GitHub, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum Software Development methodology

  • People leadership skills including interpersonal, teamwork, mentoring, technical development, motivational, and communication.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS platform services & tools

  • Strong end-to-end CI/CD pipeline implementation experience

  • Hands-on skills/experience in deployment and hosting (Docker, Beanstalk, CloudFormation).

  • Hands-on skills/experience in provisioning Kubernetes clusters

  • Scripting experience in one or more of the following languages: Bash, Shell, Python, Perl, PHP, & PowerShell.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Software Development process and tools – ADO, GitHub, CI/CD, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and  noSQL platforms (MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB…).

  • Familiarity with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus

  • Web hosting experience using Apache, Tomcat, JBoss is a plus

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as Software DevOps Engineer OR equivalent

The base pay range for this role is $104,800 to $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
