Application Developer

We are looking for a skilled Application Developer who is willing to work remotely (with occasional travel) for an exciting project with a European Agency

Requirements

Responsibilities:

1. Data Collection:
   • Create pipelines to interact with internal and external databases, including web APIs.
   • Design, develop, document, and maintain processes for data collection, integration, transformation, and dissemination, including automation processes.
2. Data Mining and Analysis:
   • Design, develop, document, and maintain data analytics and statistical analysis products, reports, and surveys.
3. Data Processing:
   • Design, develop, document, maintain, and ensure data quality, data harmonization, and cleaning.
4. Prediction:
   • Develop predictive models, such as machine learning, to identify relevant features and predict future events.
5. Data Reporting:
   • Design, develop, document, and maintain BI models, reports, dashboards, security, and automation.
6. Data Visualization:
   • Design and build interactive and attractive visualizations of data.
7. Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with data architects/engineers to design, develop, document, and maintain data architecture, data modeling, and metadata.
   • Facilitate analysis and integration processes on the overall data ecosystem, including data governance, by working with data providers to fill data gaps and/or adjust source-system data structures.
8. Team Participation:
   • Participate in meetings with the project and data teams.

Key Technology Areas:

• Advanced data and statistical analysis techniques and tools using Python.
• Knowledge of Natural Language Processing libraries and techniques using Python.
• Creating reports, visualizations, and dashboards using Python (e.g., Databricks, Jupyter notebooks, voila dashboards) and Power BI.
• Development and data processing using Python for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data types and related file formats (e.g., JSON, Parquet, Delta).
• Advanced Power BI Online Services and best governance practices.
• Gathering business requirements and transforming them into data solutions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in data collection, integration, transformation, and dissemination.
• Strong skills in data mining, analysis, and statistical techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and related libraries for data processing and analysis.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI and creating interactive visualizations.
• Knowledge of data architecture, modeling, and metadata management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (minimum B2 level).
