Role Title: Data Science Lead, Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence, Data and Analytics

Location/Office Policy:  Hybrid – Remote and Central Park, Dublin 18

What is the Role:

 

  • We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Data Science Lead to join our newly established AI Centre of Excellence (CoE). The AI CoE will be responsible for driving and supporting the development and implementation of AI solutions across the business and ensuring alignment with our AI framework and data ethics principles. As Data Science Lead, you will be responsible for implementing AI solutions that are aligned to the bank's strategic objectives and deliver positive customer outcomes, and measurable business value. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that AI initiatives are aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • We are seeking a Data Science Lead who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about collaboration and excited by the prospect of shaping the future of AIB through AI. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical techniques to extract insights from vast amounts of data, develop predictive models, and contribute to the creation of AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable value for the business, and better and fairer outcomes for our customers, colleagues and communities.

Key accountabilities;

 

  1. Develops, inspires and motivates a team of highly skilled data scientists across a programme of diverse data science projects.
  2. Will deliver a catalogue of use cases with proven value, utilising a broad spectrum of  techniques.
  3. Applies scientific methods through experimental design, exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing to reach robust conclusion.
  4. Demonstrates critical thinking, adept at identifying and articulating data science solutions supporting business growth.
  5. Is future focused, continuously developing data science and AI knowledge, and ways of utilising new tools and techniques to tackle business and organisational challenges, ensuring knowledge, ideas and best practice is adopted across the team.
  6. Thinks holistically and strategically with a proven ability to plan, organise, and manage complex AI products.

 

 

 

Minimum Criteria;

  1. MSc or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or equivalent qualification.
  2. Strong leadership and organisation skills in Data Science, with 4+ years of experience leading, motivating, coaching and inspiring highly skilled data scientists to deliver high value products.
  3. Strong knowledge and understanding of AI concepts, tools, and applications, and familiarity with the AI landscape and trends.
  4. Demonstrate solid foundation of statistics, predictive modelling, machine learning algorithms/ frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn) and deep learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch).
  5. Strong coding abilities in SQL, as well as Python or R.

  6. Business Partnership: Establishes working relationships with stakeholders in order to build trust. Evaluates challenges and opportunities from the business' perspective to develop solutions that best meet its needs
