Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

• If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
• If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

• Proficiency in SQL & relational databases
• Experience with object-oriented function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
• Working knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline creation and workflow management tools.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• Six years of job-related experience.
• Proven track record of delivering data-driven insights and models that impact business performance.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Modeling
  • Experience in analyzes large datasets and identifies trends, patterns and anomalies.
  • Proficient in building and validating predictive models, using techniques such as regression, classification, clustering and time-series forecasting.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
• Programming & Data Manipulation
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience with data manipulation and cleaning techniques.
• Data Visualization & Storytelling
  • Skilled in creating clear and impactful data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI etc.,
  • Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience with dashboard creation and reporting.
• Problem Solving & Critical Thinking
  • Strong analytical thinking to breakdown complex business problems into solvable components.
  • Ability to devis innovative solutions and optimize existing models or processes.
  • Experience working on diverse projects and adapting methods to different industries and business contexts.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts and insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, including presenting findings and providing actionable recommendations.

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $167,000.
