We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the field of vehicle safety front protection. In the department, we are responsible for the design of our vehicles to meet the world's existing legal and consumer protection requirements for passive safety (front & rear crash). The means for the design is FEM simulation, and the verification and proof of legal compliance is carried out through a hardware crash. Our spectrum ranges from current series vehicles to prototypes of the New Class.
What awaits you?
- Explore the use and integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) in vehicle safety.
- Participate in computer vision projects, including object detection and classification, using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Vision Transformers, and other modern technologies.
- Actively contribute to the design and further development of web applications and mobile apps.
- Explore and implement AI technologies, with a focus on Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
- Develop new development methods and contribute your own ideas.
- Gain insights into BMW vehicle safety and work in a diverse, future-oriented project environment.
What should you bring along?
- Ongoing master's degree in data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- Sound knowledge in data science/machine learning and are passion about AI developments.
- Experience in working with Python and libraries like TensorFlow and PyTorch, and familiarity with open-source communities (GitHub, etc.).
- Ideally knowledge in web app and mobile app development.
- Knowledge of Omniverse, Blender, and Unreal Engine, as well as a basic understanding of virtual and augmented reality, are advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of FEM simulation is an advantage.
- Fluency in German and good English skills.
