Johnson Controls International (JCI) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our Data Science and Analytics team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with advanced statistical and machine learning techniques, and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and enhance our product offerings.
How you will do it
Data Analysis and Modeling:
Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
Develop, validate, and implement predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
Optimize and tune algorithms to improve model performance.
Data Management:
Work with large, complex data sets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
Collaborate with data engineers to design and build scalable data pipelines.
Implement and maintain data storage solutions that support advanced analytics.
Business Collaboration:
Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Develop and deliver presentations and reports to communicate insights and recommendations.
Tool and Technology Utilization:
Utilize advanced analytics tools and platforms such as Python, SQL, Snowflake.
Implement solutions using Azure tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
Explore and implement AI and machine learning solutions using Azure ML.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data science and machine learning.
Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and guidelines for data science projects.
What we look
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
Experience:
3+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
Proven track record of developing and deploying predictive models in a business environment.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Databricks.
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with IoT data and time-series analysis.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps for CI/CD in data projects.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
