Lead AI Data Engineer (Python)

We have a vacancy available for a 6-month contract and are seeking a AI Data Engineer to fill this role.

As a Lead AI Data Engineer you will play a crucial role in evolving and accelerating the adoption of AI models and capabilities to automate and optimise our internal process and create product concepts. The business is leveraging the capabilities of modern large language model to challenge the existing habits and processes. The objective is to reduce the time spent by users toiling at repetitive tasks.  

The work will focus upon delivering immediate value in the high touch processes and developing proof of concept and beta services to assess client appetite for AI driven products and services.   

Your key responsibilities as a Lead AI Data Engineer will include:

• You will be responsible for developing tools and systems that enable the delivery of advanced AI solutions, including models-as-a-service, custom-built AI models, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Collaborating closely with data scientists, you’ll help design and implement the operating models for AI systems, including ML Ops and LLM Ops.
• In addition to building AI services, you’ll design frameworks and boilerplate to accelerate the adoption of AI-driven services across the product portfolio.
• You’ll also provide ongoing maintenance for AI systems, offering expert guidance to teams adopting these tools and frameworks.
• You’ll work alongside Business Analysts to document existing systems and architect new, scalable solutions, ensuring they adhere to architectural norms and standards.
• Your role will involve working directly on enterprise systems, ensuring seamless integration of AI-driven components and collaborating closely with business stakeholders to implement AI features into products.

As a Lead AI Data Engineer your required experience and skills are:

• You will have experience working with applications and data in a cloud environment.
• You will have experience in working with data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, and data quality tooling.
• You must be proficient in SQL and Python.
• You should have experience with Microsoft services such as Databricks and Azure Services.
• You should have experience in working with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• You will have experience in working with agile methodologies.
• You will have experience in working in any container environment.
