Senior Staff Product Data Scientist , Network Optimization

Waymo’s Product Data Science team works with Engineering, Product and Operations to help us make the most informed decisions using data. Our team collaborates on projects across the company — from driving quality and operational efficiency to market analysis and rider satisfaction scores — we help to safely and efficiently scale the Waymo Driver. We are data-driven, curious, and to new information.

In this hybrid role, you will report to Head of Product Data Science, Commercialization.

You will:

• Set the vision for a team of Product Data Scientists
• Provide leadership to the team to implement the vision as we scale our commercial operations, and lead the output across data analysis, statistical modeling and report creation
• Analyze complex operational and commercial data to enhance performance as Waymo scales our AV business 
• Function as an advisor with senior management and partners, and align stakeholders around the vision to gain support
• Manage prioritization of team resources to partner with teams such as Operations, Engineering, Product, Strategy, Finance

You have:

• 12+ years of experience in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of team management experience
• Statistical knowledge/data
• Structure and solve ambiguous problems
• Coding skills and experience
• Experience working with senior leadership

We prefer:

• Transportation or AV experience 
• Marketplace business experience
• Experience working with product management teams

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
