The Role
Data is essential for analytics. Veeva’s Analytics Business Consulting Team is dedicated to assisting our customers by creating and implementing data and analytics solutions that address the key challenges faced by modern life sciences organizations. In doing so we ensure the enablement and adoption of the products aligned to Veeva Data Cloud. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise to help improve the success of life sciences companies. With a commitment to quality, this role will enhance patient access to their products. They will assist our analytics consultants and data scientists in turning manual solutions into production-ready tools. Additionally, they will help build internal products that enable our team to perform at their best. Our ideal candidate can work well under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements. They are quick to respond to problems while keeping the long-term vision in mind. A self-starter, they are driven and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities. From day one, they will immediately improve the efficiency of our data solution delivery and operations, contributing to our overall growth.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate our most complicated analytics consulting projects by building the engineering back end that empowers consultants to focus on delivery
  • Understand the team needs related to repeated SQL queries and build repeatable data pipelines (Airflow)
  • Optimize multi-terabyte datasets on spark
  • Help convert manually executed analytics workflows and data science models into containerized workflows
  • Build testing and monitoring so that our teams can have confidence in the data we provide to them
  • Take data governance and security seriously, and be mindful of those aspects in everything we build
  • Leverage CI/CD pipelines using Terraform or similar technologies, cloud monitoring, and logging tools
  • Find new opportunities for innovation, automation, and optimization
  • Establish pilots and POCs for proposed solutions and make recommendations for approvals
  • Promote Infrastructure as Code (laC) and promote CI/CD for faster and repeatable deployment
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance, and maintain cloud knowledge management

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in cloud-based tech (AWS highly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Python
  • Strong understanding of Bash
  • Hand-on experience in Spark
  • Firm grasp of emerging cloud technologies, platforms, and applications
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, cross-collaboration, networking concepts, and advanced industry knowledge
  • Familiarity with DevOps best practices and culture
  • Have a user-centered design mindset -build things that people like using

Compensation

  • Base pay: $90,000 - $150,000 CAD
  • The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
