POSITION SUMMARY:

Natera is currently seeking a Senior/ Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Research & Development team with a focus on cancer recurrence monitoring. Natera’s mission is to change the management of disease worldwide by using information gained from a simple blood draw to detect disease early and proactively inform treatment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in bioinformatics and algorithm development. The individual will develop novel algorithms and analyze large and complex genomics data sets.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets based on insights in cancer biology and genomics
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to translate biological questions into research strategies that solve challenging problems in oncology 
  • Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • MS/PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field
  • 0-5 years of experience in a related field. Title will be commensurate with the combination of the degree and experience.
  • Experience with NGS data analysis (e.g. mapping, variant calling, etc.)
  • Strong programming skills in a scientific programming language, Python strongly preferred
  • Experience with Linux command-line tools and shell scripting
  • Ability to conduct hypothesis-driven research, visualize data, and effectively communicate results
  • Strong understanding of molecular, cellular, and cancer biology
  • Excellent collaborative skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail
  • Background in ML and statistics preferred
  • Experience with WGS preferred

 

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Remote USA$129,100—$161,450 USD
