Meta Reality Labs Research brings together world-class experts to develop next-generation systems for virtual, augmented and mixed reality experiences. The Imaging team at Display Systems Research is seeking innovative research interns to develop groundbreaking imaging technologies for mixed reality. We welcome PhD students with strong backgrounds in Machine Learning, 3D Computer Vision and Graphics, in particular with research experience in 3D reconstruction, neural rendering and computational photography. Our internships are sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.AI Research Scientist Intern, 3D Computer Vision and Graphics Responsibilities
  • Conceive and develop 3D computer vision and graphics algorithms.
  • Collaborate with the larger Meta Reality Labs Research team and provide creative direction on the project.
  • Publish research results in top-tier venues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics or related technical fields.
  • Research experience in neural 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, view synthesis, computational photography or related topics.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in top-tier venues such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.
  • 2+ years experience with deep learning software libraries such as PyTorch.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research and development experience in real-time algorithm systems for ML, 3D computer vision or graphics applications.
  • Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from cameras to high-level algorithms.
  • Intent to return to the degree-program after the completion of the internship.
