Description

Our team develops machine learning frameworks and tools to deploy and accelerate deep learning models for Apple products. In this role, you will be empowered to: - Implement ML algorithms using Apple Neural Engine SoC, with an emphasis on performance and power - Develop machine learning infrastructure that will be used by product teams for developing, evaluating and deploying machine learning models - Provide technical support to product and algorithm teams on standard methodologies for developing efficient machine learning models, and analyzing failure cases - Interact with high level ML frameworks; such as CoreML, and add support for new hardware features into the framework - Interact with the compiler for Apple proprietary Neural Engine Accelerator to expose / enable new features of the Neural Engine Accelerator - Run performance analysis and optimization of ML workloads running on the Apple Neural Engine

Minimum Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
• Ability to write quality, readable and maintainable code in C++/Python
• Experience using modern machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with neural networks inference on dedicated SOC, GPU, CPU or DSP
• Strong fundamentals in problem solving and algorithm design

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of compiler development
• Strong communication skills, and ability to present deep technical ideas to audience with different abilities
• Understanding of hardware acceleration for ML workloads
• Experience with modern IR for ML workloads (MLIR)
• Passion for software architecture, APIs and development tool design

Pay & Benefits

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
