Group 52--Summer Research Program Intern (AI & Machine Learning Researcher)
Lexington, MA, US
MIT Lincoln Laboratory
Are you looking to work in a world-class AI group with over 50 years of experience developing revolutionary technology for critical national missions? We are the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Systems group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. We have a rich history in developing machine-learning (ML) algorithms, technologies, and systems for extracting information from multimedia-based data (speech, text, image, and video). The group significantly expanded our mission set to include developing impactful ML technologies for cyber with the Nation’s top cyber organizations. We are creating counter-disinformation and counter-influence operations technologies, leveraging our expertise in deepfake, persona, and graph technologies. At the forefront of basic and applied AI/ML, we shape emerging AI fields and are leading the Laboratory’s effort in AI Assurance across the DoD and Intelligence Community.
Our work stresses the importance of developing and evaluating AI/ML technologies with operationally relevant metrics and datasets. We are deeply connected to many operational communities and have substantial opportunities shoulder-to-shoulder with cyber warfighters and intelligence analysts. Through this experience, we emphasize transitioning AI/ML technologies to the Government for their use in operational environments on real, deployed, game-changing systems. Our staff members program, architect, and develop ML methods; create speech, natural language processing, multimedia, cyber, and graph algorithms; and present results at premiere conferences.
The AI Technology and Systems group is seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate students to assist with projects addressing a range of national needs with AI and machine learning. Summer intern assignments may include research on state-of-the-art algorithms in signal processing, natural language processing, graph analytics, and/or adversarial AI applied to challenging, real-world problems.
