Analytics Lead and Head of Data Science

Role Description

The Analytics, Data Science & Engineering Manager will lead a team of data scientists, engineers and Analysts and will have the opportunity to address greenfield opportunities to apply data analytics, data engineering and machine learning in the animal health space.  Our view of analytics spans from the sensor data collection and analysis on the edge, to the delivery of data insights that help optimize and, in some cases, automate the decision-making process.  You will partner with world-class experts in animal health to develop innovative digital and analytics products.  The team is leveraging the best-in-class data integration, analytics and IoT tools and techniques, and you will have the opportunity to hone your experience with them and help evolve our application of them.

• Serve as the primary engagement partner for analytics and data science use cases, linking and translating business needs to analytics resources.
• Lead end to end technical delivery aligned with the business initiatives for Analytics business use cases.
• Lead, Mentor, Manage team of data engineers, scientists, and data analysts.
• Apply Agile and DevOps practices. Ensure platform requirements (functional and non-functional) are met per design and architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including ZTD Infrastructure, IT, business and Information Security teams to evolve technology solutions.  Coordinate with business leaders to create the analytics use case roadmap and pipeline, short-term (1-6 months) and long-term (6-18 months) plans, Manage communication and Stakeholders.
• Work closely within DDA and across ZTD IT, Infrastructure, Business Partners and Business COE Team members located Globally both in US and International markets.

Education & Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field. Master’s Preferred.

• Strong understanding and skills in advanced analytics and data science models and methodology, such as statistical analysis, algorithm development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, text mining, natural language processing, and optimization
• Strong understanding of data science tools and technology, such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, and cloud-based technology
• Understanding of basic data engineering concepts, data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Experience with source control and collaboration tools (e.g. Git and Github Enterprise)
• Inspirational leadership, define Roadmaps, communicate with stakeholders and senior leadership, Present vision to the team and business leaders, Mentor and Promote team members.
• Strong experience in Azure cloud and data platforms services including Data Factory, Data Bricks, databases, ETL/ELT concepts, IAM, and security controls.

Knowledge / experience in DevOps and Agile methodologies.

• Collaborate with cross teams, infrastructure, and security teams for the best and timely delivery.
• Strong analytics and problem-solving skills with experience across a broad spectrum of analytics
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Experience in healthcare/Life Sciences is preferred but not required.
