You are a professional with a master’s degree in (process/chemical) engineering, supply chain, business optimization, IT, or a related field, you possess outstanding data science and analytical skills and a relentless drive to see each step toward your vision completed.

Can you see the fun in analyzing the data coming from complex business processes and recommending improvement potential using the toolbox of machine learning, so that everything runs in an optimal way? In order to support strategic projects in the fields of Supply Chain, Product Management and Circular Economy Solutions, we are looking for a Citizen Data Scientist in our team with a focus on the development and maintenance of advanced data models. 
 

Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and governance of data analytics, optimization and machine learning tools
  • Analyzing complex business problems and translating them into technical solutions: We are looking for a data scientist who is interested in the management of business projects and processes, approaching them with the right analytical skillset.
  • Creates communication bridge between business teams and IT teams
  • Participates or leads improvement projects with diverse team members (business analysts, subject matter experts, IT specialists) focusing on the analysis of the “as-is” and inventing and implementing the “to-be” processes and tools to deliver optimal performance meeting business requirements
  • Validates process and tool improvement implementations
  • Monitors performance of current processes, challenges process owners and brings innovation to achieve continuous improvement
  • Delivers trainings concerning improved business processes and tools
     

About you

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (Economics, Engineering, Natural sciences, Supply Chain, IT, etc.)
  • Solid coding experience in Python and a passion for solving open problems using data and algorithms are a must, all other coding/software skills are considered a plus
  • Experience with process/chemical industry/supply chain and process data are nice to have
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver machine learning solutions following industry best practices is an asset;
  • Ability to navigate in an unstructured environment – structural thinker
  • Strong team player with leadership potential and decision-making skills
  • Able to explain complex business problems in simple and understandable terms, ability to speak both business and IT languages
  • Working experience with any of the following SAP modules (SAP R/3, S/4, APO, IBP) or any other ERP system is nice to have 
  • User of advanced MS Excel features
  • Fluent in English

Should you join us in one of our Austrian locations and according to Austrian law , we offer compensation based on the collective labor agreement starting at EUR 79.040 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) plus a yearly bonus, and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
