As a Principal Technical Program Manager Data Governance in Corporate Sector, you will lead complex, multi-functional technology projects and programs that will impact experiences for multiple groups across the firm, including clients, employees, and stakeholders. Your advanced analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to break down business, technical, and operational objectives into manageable tasks, while navigating through ambiguity and driving change. Job responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Corporate Technology Senior Leader Steering Committees to define, develop, and monitor execution of a comprehensive Data Strategy
  • Develop and execute comprehensive data governance project plans for all Corporate Technology, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of data governance solutions for all of corporate technology
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior knowledge experts, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Champion the adoption of data governance methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and implement effective strategic plans in coordination with firmwide strategy drivers and Corporate Technology leadership
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to maintain project and program momentum.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures of all Corporate Technology to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements 
  • Utilize advanced analytical reasoning to assess program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the entire data lifecycle, from data creation and acquisition to data archiving and disposal, implementing best practices for data retention, archiving, and deletion.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT, and data users, to understand their data needs and challenges, and communicate data governance initiatives, policies, and progress.
  • Lead or participate in data governance committees or councils, facilitating meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes related to data governance.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in large organizations
  • Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Advanced experience in utilizing technical fluency, including knowledge of data governance tools and managing vendor relations, to enable on-demand access to shared pools of data and services.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities.
  • Possess a high degree of executive presence and an ability to partner, garner respect, and meet the expectations of senior leaders within Corporate Technology.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the capability to distill the problems and issues impacting an organization’s ability to achieve strategic imperatives and the capacity to collaborate broadly to determine appropriate solutions to remediate risk.
  • Possess the ability to effectively develop and implement communication and education programs which significantly broaden the impact of aligned programs and influence the activities of aligned Corporate teams.
  • Possess the ability to interface and engage daily with senior CT leaders and Business partners in order to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the delivery of data governance solutions within AGILE / LEAN methodologies.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data governance policies, practices, and tools, promoting awareness of data governance and its importance across the organization.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and make continuous improvements, staying updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data governance.
