Your future team 
You will be an important part of the Diagnostics and Data Management team where we enable data-driven development for Axis.  

Your new team consists of experienced Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists responsible for collecting, processing, storing, and analyzing anonymized data from IoT devices, in the cloud and on-prem. 

We provide solutions to access and visualize the data and perform analysis of the data. The area is of strategic importance for Axis with great development potential moving forward. Our stakeholders are within R&D, Product management, and Operations.

What you’ll do as a Data Scientist 
You will transform information into knowledge! 

Your typical day at Axis will include one or more of the following: 

• Explore and transform data in Jupyter notebooks 

• Develop and improve dbt models, and participate in code reviews 

• Collaborate with stakeholders regarding ongoing requests and bringing new ideas. 

• Collaborate with teammates in hands-on sessions to solve analysis tasks together 

• Use various tools, for example notebooks, and present slides and dashboards to convey insights and results for stakeholders and in different forums 

• Engage in our stand-ups and planning sessions to keep the team aligned, maintain momentum, and quickly address any issues. 

Who are we looking for?  
You, who are  

• Excited about tech and data 

• Comfortable in Python and/or SQL and experienced in Linux + Git 

• Equipped with a diverse statistical toolbox for transforming data into insights 

You are curious and want to learn new things and share your knowledge with others. You are a structured and self-going person that likes to take responsibility for your tasks, and you are good at seeing the big picture. You recognize the importance of networking with others, inside as well as outside the team. You have a suitable education like Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or similar. 

As teamwork is crucial for Axis, we believe it is important that you can contribute to a good team spirit promoting a creative and stimulating work environment.  

We see it as a bonus that you have 

• Experience working with databases, for example ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.  

• Experience in working closely with Data engineers  

• Experience in visualization/BI-tool (ex. Apache Superset or other)
