About the Role 

As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and innovation across the organization through data analytics and process improvement. You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated workflows using Alteryx, developing advanced data visualizations with Tableau, and providing actionable insights to support business strategy. A strong background or interest in data science is highly desirable, as well as the ability to manage data operations, workflow scheduling, and complex data processes.

What You’ll Do 

Product & Technology - Data & AI team develops and deploys bespoke data-driven solutions, improving Telstra's business and customer experience. 

 
Main Responsibilities: 

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business objectives. 

  • Workflow Automation: Design and implement efficient, automated workflows using Alteryx to streamline data processing and reporting tasks, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.  

  • Innovative Solutions: Identify opportunities to apply innovative solutions and advanced analytics to solve complex business problems, driving continuous improvement across processes. 

  • Dashboard Development: Create and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau to visualize data, track KPIs, and support decision-making across the organization. 

  • Data Operations Management: Oversee the scheduling and management of data workflows, ensuring the integrity and availability of data for stakeholders. 

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and IT, to gather requirements, deliver insights, and ensure alignment with business goals. 

  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to data analytics and process improvement, ensuring successful implementation and measurable impact. 

  • Documentation and Best Practices: Maintain thorough documentation of data analysis processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency and reproducibility. 

 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and qualifications:  

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. 

  • Experience: Relevant experience in a Business Analyst role or similar, with a strong emphasis on data analytics, process automation, and workflow management. 

  • Advanced Alteryx Proficiency: Expertise in workflow automation, data manipulation, and process optimization. 

  • Tableau Expertise: Proven experience in data visualization, including dashboard creation and KPI tracking. 

  • Data Science Knowledge: Background or interest in statistical analysis, machine learning, or predictive modeling. 

  • Data Operations Management: Strong experience in workflow scheduling, data integrity, and process monitoring. 

  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Excel; knowledge of SQL, Python, or R is a plus. 

  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Demonstrated ability to approach complex business problems analytically and systematically, focusing on innovative and efficient solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Attention to Detail & Project Management: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability in data analysis and reporting. Experience managing data-centric projects, including defining timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and ensuring successful outcomes. 

  • Preferred Skills: Experience in a data-oriented role within a finance, operations, or technology function. Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean. Familiarity with API development and integration. Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, or data science tools and techniques. 

  • Soft Skills: Leadership ability to guide cross-functional teams and drive consensus on data-driven initiatives. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to pivot as needed. Strong critical thinking skills, with a focus on challenging the status quo and proposing innovative solutions. Collaborative mindset, focused on achieving team and organizational goals. 

  • Location Requirement: Must be based in Hong Kong or Philippines
