As we expand our reach and accelerate our business transformation, we are looking for a talented Data Governance Specialist to join our Data Architecture, Governance, and Compliance team. You'll be pivotal in shaping our data governance strategies and increasing compliance with global standards.

The Role

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing data governance policies and practices, ensuring our data management processes align with regulatory requirements and support our business goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, legal, and compliance departments, to implement and maintain effective data governance frameworks and tools.

  • Develop and Maintain Data Governance Framework: Design, implement, and sustain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Collaborate with internal teams to align practices with business needs and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure Compliance Management: Monitor and enforce compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA, conducting regular assessments and audits to identify and address any issues
  • Manage Data Quality Assurance: Maintain high data quality standards, addressing governance issues, and implementing solutions to effectively manage data management challenges
  • Implement Risk Management Strategies: Identify data-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential data breaches and compliance issues
  • Coordinate Training and Support Initiatives: Provide guidance and training on data governance best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring teams across the organization are well-informed and compliant
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and regulations, proposing enhancements to data governance practices and tools to ensure ongoing effectiveness and compliance

What you bring

Experience

  • Data Governance and Management Experience: 5+ years in a technical role focused on data governance or compliance, with a robust background in data management
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in data governance tools and technologies, including data anonymization, encryption, and big data technologies. Proficiency in using Python and SQL for data quality checks
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global data protection regulations and privacy standards

  • Effective Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across diverse teams
  • Attention to Detail and Analytical Thinking: Keen attention to detail with strong analytical skills to ensure high-quality data governance and compliance
  • Project Management and Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively to support data governance initiatives and meet deadlines
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Ability to thrive in dynamic environments, demonstrating flexibility and proactive problem-solving capabilities
  • Willingness to Travel: Open to occasional travel as part of the role's requirements
