The AI team’s mission is to develop AI-powered tooling that enhances each stage of the ADLC. Our goal is to seamlessly embed AI throughout dbt Cloud, enabling users to leverage cutting-edge AI technology to transform data workflows, drive insights, and automate processes.

As part of our AI team, you will partner closely with product development teams to design, build, and implement AI features that will shape the future of data-driven decision-making.

In this role, you can expect to

• Be part of a highly focused, innovative team that is passionate about AI.
• Partner with product managers and designers to develop AI-powered experiences across dbt Cloud.
• Shape and define AI-driven user experiences in collaboration with other teams.
• Interact directly with dbt Cloud users to gather feedback and iterate on solutions.
• Lead and champion AI initiatives, ensuring AI adoption across the platform.
• Innovate and experiment with cutting-edge AI techniques to create practical solutions for real-world data challenges.

You are a good fit if you have:

• Experience in working remotely as part of a distributed team.
• A strong passion for solving customer problems using AI-driven approaches.
• Expertise in building AI systems, with a focus on LLMs or similar technologies.
• A solid understanding of balancing speed with quality, delivering effective solutions without compromising long-term vision.
• Proven experience with web frameworks to develop full-stack applications at scale.
• A strong background in building APIs and large-scale distributed systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

You'll have an edge if you have:

• Have experience using dbt or understand its role in analytics engineering.
• Have worked on AI projects that directly impact end-users in product-focused environments.
• Can demonstrate a passion for data and analytics engineering.

Qualifications:

• Have 4 - 10 years of experience as a software engineer
• Minimum requirement of bachelor's degree in a related field (computer science, computer engineering, etc.) OR completed enrollment in engineering related bootcamp

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: 327,000 - 443,000 BRL per year

• An introductory call with a member of our Talent team
• A technical screen and meeting with the Hiring Manager
• A coding interview conducted in a collaborative, pair programming format
• A panel interview including multiple members of the Engineering Team
• A final interview with a member of our Engineering Leadership Team
