Lead Android Software Architect

Our products include Farsight, a 3D processing and mission planning tool, as well as Identifi which enables secure and rapid identity verification. Our team has deep experience in 3D visualization, photogrammetry, applied machine learning, computer vision, and autonomy. You will be working collaboratively with all teams in Reveal to define and execute the roadmap for Farsight, Identifi, and our future products.
This role might be for you if you are a highly skilled and visionary tenured Software Architect to join our team and lead the technical direction of the Identifi product, a cutting-edge multimodal biometric system designed for disconnected and austere environments. This role will serve as a contributing technical leader for Identifi, directly influencing the future of our product development, scaling efforts, and technology roadmap, while working directly alongside a small team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and directly contribute to the implementation of software solutions for the Identifi product.
• Develop and maintain the overall software architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance across all product components.
• Write and oversee code quality, test automation, development standards, and best practices, ensuring robust, clean, and maintainable codebases.
• Work closely with product management, software developers, QA, and customer success teams to translate user needs into actionable technical requirements and product features.Support and mentor team engineers. 
• Drive the technical vision for Identifi, identifying opportunities for innovation, new technologies, and integration of emerging capabilities that enhance the product’s market position.
• Design for future growth, including server and desktop elements, ensuring the software infrastructure can support expanding user needs and market demands.

Requirements

• 10-20 years of experience in Android software engineering.
• 5+ years working in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, drive technical strategy, and manage complex projects from concept to deployment.
• Familiarity with biometric technologies such as facial recognition, fingerprint, and iris scanning, including knowledge of standards like EBTS, FBI Appendix F, or similar.
• Strong track record in mobile (Android) and backend development; prior experience in an architect or lead role.
• Expert in the Kotlin/JVM ecosystem.
• Android NDK experience.
• Strong knowledge of Android development, API design, UI architecture, UX fundamentals.

Nice to Haves

• Understanding of C++, C#, and Python.
• Understanding of the challenges and requirements for deploying biometric systems in disconnected, low-resource, or tactical environments.
• Familiarity with Cloud/Kubernetes, gRPC or RESTful apisExperience integrating AI/ML models for biometric matching or enhancing data accuracy.

Compensation

• Salary (starting at $170,000) + Equity 
• Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
