Our Business Operations team is seeking a Decision Scientist to support our US Sales team. In this role, you will optimize productivity and enhance the output of this multi-billion dollar business by analyzing performance and identifying tangible opportunities for Apple’s eCommerce business at the largest Consumer Electronics retailers and Carriers in the United States. You will partner closely with our US Strategic Initiatives, Customer Experience (CX), Sales, and Finance teams to help design A/B test, multivariate test, and use data to iterate on marketing campaigns to optimize results. Help ensure data and analytics enable high-quality campaign insights, optimize customer experience, and drive sales decisions across product categories and channel partners. Using your forward-thinking influence, collaboration, and ability to solve problems, you will make an impact on Apple’s US business for years to come.

Description


In this role, you will: - Develop a best-in-class analytics and a benchmarking framework for Apple’s US reseller digital business, working to identify and procure necessary data sources to round out the complete picture of digital performance of our campaigns - Define key performance indications applicable to each line of business and reseller partner to measure impact of critical initiatives. Manage this KPI framework and drive ongoing improvements - Share CX and Campaigns trends, recommendations, strategies across teams to grow sales - Support the development and testing of critical initiatives and playbooks, influencing digital strategy through data - Enable the sales team to effectively use available tools, metrics, benchmarks, and standard processes to meet and exceed growth goals - Coordinate and drive large cross-functional business reviews to assess the state of our growth initiatives, share opportunities across teams, and solicit leadership feedback on strategic direction - Research and evaluate business opportunities, audiences, competition to build custom, data driven digital campaigns plans - Partner with finance on data driven case for campaign and recommend campaign budget allocation to create cost effective strategies - Be able to absorb a large amount of complex and disparate information to build data driven insights and create a compelling story to communicate the possible actions and outcomes to Apple’s channel leadership

Minimum Qualifications


  • Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of related experience
  • 10+ years recent experience as a digital / marketing data analyst, data scientist, ideally within a retail, digital advertising, or e-commerce environment
  • Strong understanding of SEO, social media marketing, customer journey mapping, funnel optimization
  • Deep expertise in analyzing, benchmarking, and optimizing digital sales performance indications, such as: sell-thru, organic/paid traffic, conversion, keyword trends, ad spend metrics, overall market / in-house share, share of voice, content scores, product ratings, returns, pricing/promotions
  • Outstanding Excel, Tableau and presentation-building (e.g. Keynote) skills with ability to present data insights in a compelling and understandable way to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Proficient in statistical methods and comfortable with handling large datasets to identify patterns and trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Familiarity with following tools, programming languages and frameworks is a plus (Python, SQL, Git, CSS, Dataiku, Design Systems, and Gen AI paradigms.)
  • Ability to recognize business opportunities through data, develop actionable commercial insights, convert insights to strategic recommendations, and present findings in a storytelling format to partners
  • Ability to design, plan, and analyze A/B experiments, UX project impact, and customer engagement across digital commerce partner.
  • Understanding different attribution models to assess marketing performance across channels.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, and influence across a variety of cross-functional and multi-directional partners
  • Outstanding communication skills; Ability to simplify complex ideas and effectively tailor approach to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to aggregate information from multiple sources to formulate a cohesive strategy or direction
  • Resilience, tenacity, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in digital-first, omni-channel campaigns
  • Masters degree preferred


Pay & Benefits


  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $195,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
