About the role:

The role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. For this role, you will join the SAS9 team. We are looking for a SAS developer to develop and maintain the SAS 9 platform based products. You will plan, design and take responsibility for large parts of the application. Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience, to develop and maintain SAS 9 products.

Primary Responsibilities

• Be responsible for designing and developing high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes, and actively involving project stakeholders (e.g., managers, developers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
• Be expected to ensure quality through functional, unit and performance testing; work closely with testing team members by providing thorough reviews of the test plan and communicate when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns and/or bug fixes using SAS programming language, SAS tools and scripting languages.Should be able to work independently and implement the architecture with the team and solve complex technical issues. Present the design and proposed implementation to stakeholders. Should facilitate the selection of correct technical choices via collaboration and implement for scale, performance and usability.

Requirement

Experience of these items would be useful:

• Expertise in Base SAS, SAS Macro programming   
• Exposure to Jenkins, Gitlab, Test Framework Automation  
• Hands on expertise of SQL, Python/Perl/Shell scripting
• Knowledge of performance tuning techniques on SAS 
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Data ware housing concepts and development experience
• Understanding of testing concepts for Base SAS and RDBMS database would be an added advantage 
• Experience with Unix/Linux OS
• Proven analytical problem-solving skills, a quick and self-learner who is driven by curiosity

Mandatory Technical Skills

Good exposure to design and development of backend tier using SAS

Essential Technology Experience:

• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience
• SAS Technologies: Base and Advance SAS and SAS Macro Programming
• Other Tools/Technologies involved: Jenkins, Gitlab, XML, Javascript, Python 
• Good logical problem-solving capability, quick and self-learner.
• Experience with Postgres, Oracle databases or other RDBMS and persistent stores
• Ability to make recommendations based on solid understanding of the problem resolution, troubleshooting or user interactions
• Experience working with Jira, agile methodology
• 1-3 Years of experience with Bachelor’s in computer science or relevant
