RTX has an opening for an Associate Director, MDM Data Governance Platform Leader (Associate Director, Data Science and Analytics) position.  Remote Opportunity.

The MDM Data Governance Platform Leader is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of data governance solutions within the SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) platform.

This role involves platform ownership, strategy development, and leading a team of professionals to ensure the effective governance, integrity, and quality of master data across the organization. The leader will work closely with various business units and technical teams to implement and optimize data governance practices, ensuring that SAP MDG aligns with enterprise data strategies and business objectives. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Platform Ownership: 
  • Take ownership of the SAP MDG platform, overseeing its architecture, configuration, development, and operational performance. 
  • Develop and execute the platform strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, data governance policies, and business requirements. 
  • Manage platform upgrades, patches, and system enhancements to ensure optimal performance and security. 
  • Data Governance Solution Delivery: 
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of data governance solutions within the SAP MDG platform, ensuring best practices in data quality, integrity, and security. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver governance solutions that meet enterprise data management goals. 
  • Ensure that data governance frameworks, standards, and policies are consistently applied across the SAP MDG platform to support data quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. 
  • Team Leadership: 
  • Lead and mentor a team of data governance professionals, including platform administrators, developers, and data stewards. 
  • Provide guidance and direction on platform development, project execution, and day-to-day operations. 
  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting professional development, innovation, and a strong culture of data governance excellence. 
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: 
  • Act as the primary Technical Platform liaison between business users, data stewards, and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on data governance priorities. 
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to promote platform adoption and data governance awareness across the organization. 
  • Engage with senior leadership to provide updates on platform performance, data governance initiatives, and key metrics. 
  • Data Quality & Compliance: 
  • Implement data quality monitoring and reporting tools within the SAP MDG platform, ensuring that data governance metrics are tracked and reported effectively. 
  • Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure that the platform adheres to data privacy regulations and security standards, such as GDPR or industry-specific requirements. 
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve data quality, identifying and resolving data-related issues across master data domains. 
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: 
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, best practices, and SAP MDG updates to continuously enhance the platform’s capabilities. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and platform optimization, ensuring that SAP MDG remains a robust solution for master data governance. 
  • Drive innovation in data governance by introducing new methodologies and tools to streamline platform operations and increase data accuracy. 

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE: 

  • Typically 12+ years of experience in data governance, master data management (MDM), or platform management, with a focus on SAP MDG and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years’ related work experience. 
  • 10+ years’ experience in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), including architecture, configuration, and development. 
  • Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Proven track record of delivering data governance solutions in an SAP environment, including platform configuration and optimization. 
  • Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional projects. 
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders. 
  • Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau). 
  • Knowledge of other MDM tools and platforms. 
  • SAP certifications in MDG or other related areas. 
  • Advanced degree.

Educational Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field or equivalent combination of related work and schooling in lieu of degree.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
