Title and Summary

Manager, Data Management

Mastercard Enterprise Data Governance is looking for a Manager, Data Governance to join a team leading the development and delivery of data governance strategy to drive best in class data management practices across the organization’s data ecosystem.

You will be a key player in supporting and facilitating cross-functional coordination and collaboration with partners and data ecosystem stewardship to drive operationalizing and measuring adherence to data governance policy and standards.

Your contributions will be instrumental in the Mastercard Data Governance vision to unlock and accelerate the value of data for our business and customers.

Policy & Adherence
• Provide expertise to support operationalizing data governance strategy & policy across the Mastercard data ecosystem
• Guide the development and documentation of standards & procedures, work instructions, process, & playbooks
• Support and facilitate adherence and monitoring activities such as assessments, documentation, remediation planning, measuring, and monitoring for data governance strategy, data domains, data risk, and internal audit
Stewardship Network
• Support the development and adoption of the data governance stewardship model
• Support the development and adoption of data governance stewardship roles and responsibilities
• Support the identification and assignment of business, technical, and services related roles required for stewardship representation
• Co/ Lead data stewardship working groups to create scope, prioritization, tracking of key standards

Delivery & Engagement
• Support cross-functional coordination & collaboration of global data ecosystem data management initiatives (cloud, data catalog, etc.) as needed
• Lead guided data management implementation within or across specified domains of data (data lifecycle management, metadata management, data quality, master and reference data management, data integration & interoperability, and AI & analytics enablement)
• Create & Support the development and delivery of education & training to data governance stakeholders and data ecosystem stewardship.
• Drive identification and documentation of continuous improvement efforts including but not limited to plan, do, check, act

BUSINESS
• Minimum 5 years experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
• Intermediate level proficiency in the comprehension and application of industry standard and best practice data governance and data management theories, principles, practices, and methodologies
• Minimum one year of practice or stewardship facilitation in data governance and data management technical platforms related to activities around data cataloging, business glossary development, lineage and other relationship properties, stewardship engagement, metadata enrichment (ex. Informatica, Collibra, Alation)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data issues and develop practical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with and facilitate activities across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Advanced PowerPoint skills
• Advanced Excel skills

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
