Job Description

The Data & Analytics (D&A) team sits within the Global Supplier Management Group (GSMG) Technology Sourcing USA organization and is responsible for supporting the entire GSMG organization with analytics support. The D&A team will work closely with the other key areas of GSMG – Process/Policy, Systems Excellence, Global Sourcing & Contracting, Operational Excellence, and Value Realization.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented co-op to join our data analytics team. In this role, you will work closely with the team to gather, analyze, and report data related to procurement. You will be responsible for managing large datasets, creating reports and dashboards, identifying trends and insights from data, and providing recommendations to improve procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, manage, and analyze large sets of procurement data from different sources such as purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts

  • Transform data into insights and actionable recommendations for stakeholders to optimize procurement decisions and reduce costs

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve procurement processes

  • Work with procurement team to identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support procurement team strategies and initiatives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and drive insights

  • Perform data quality checks and resolve data discrepancies

  • Develop and maintain documentation of data models and data analytics processes

Education and Skills Required

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data analytics, computer science, statistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing and interpreting large datasets

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Qliksense, Power BI)

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, R)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • A passion for the pharmaceutical industry and a desire to learn about procurement processes and operations
