In this role, you will contribute to the architecture and development of applications, backend services, and data-powered solutions. Our data products and services empower teams across CVS Health with near real time data to support big data analytics, insights, and machine learning at scale. You will build scalable applications, APIs and web services, data pipelines, and data-intensive infrastructure that processes petabyte size data, catalogs, transactional data, and telemetry signals.
What The Candidate Will Do:
- Solution Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable and reliable applications, data systems and tools, while ensuring software and data quality, cost effectiveness, privacy, and compliance.
- Software Engineering: Apply software engineering best practices to build robust and maintainable data solutions, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
- Software Architecture: Design and develop large-scale applications, including backend services and web APIs, while ensuring it is practical, efficient, and scalable.
- Data Architecture: Design and develop large-scale data systems, including databases, data warehouses, and big data platforms.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize data processing and query performance using technologies such as Dataproc, GCS, and Big Query.
- Automation and Efficiency: Drive automation initiatives by developing scripts, utilities, and frameworks to streamline data processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaboration and Mentoring: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of engineering excellence within the team.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in software and data engineering, evaluate new tools and techniques, and propose innovative solutions to enhance systems and processes.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of solutions, processes, best practices, and frameworks, and actively share knowledge with the team.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on data processing, data engineering or large-scale data systems.
- 3+ years of experience with technologies such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript. Experience with additional software and data engineering technologies and tools is a plus.
- 3+ years solving complex business or technical problems and proposing effective software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Software Engineering Skills: Excellent programming skills, with expertise in building robust and scalable software solutions using modern software engineering practices.
- Data Architecture: Solid understanding of data architecture principles and proven experience in designing and developing scalable data systems, while considering data governance requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and drive successful outcomes in a collaborative team environment, with a focus on engineering excellence.
Education
- Bachelors in CS or equivalent work experience.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $185,400.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
