Expert Data Scientist - Observability

The Product Data Science role requires an engineer at heart who is able to lead and guide Data Science/Machine Learning teams to deliver Feedzai financial crime fighting products. The role requires deep data science knowledge allowing the teams to have strong support at a strategic level. Besides technical leadership, you will hire top-class data scientists/machine learning engineers as well as plan the execution of product development driven by the product management team. You need to be able to lead by example with a positive attitude bringing out the best of people. This role is key to achieving success at Feedzai making sure we are on top of the game with respect to ML/AI Observability and Governance practices.

Your Day to Day:

• Understanding the data Feedzai generates and processes.
• Provide technical leadership to the team from driving architecture, design, and experimental setups up to building working prototypes.
• Be responsible for the planning, execution, and success of technical projects.
• Work with key stakeholders across all groups within the Engineering and Product Teams.
• Develop scalable data pipelines with tools such as Airflow and Trino.
• Analyze data using the Python scientific stack (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, ...) while leveraging distributed computing, e.g. with PySpark.

 You Have & You Know How:

• 3+ years of experience in ML Observability
• 3+ years of experience with very large datasets.
• 5+ years of experience in applied ML.
• 5+ years of data science work including experiment design.
• Experience in communicating complex concepts to customers and/or key stakeholder.

We Value If You Have:

• Experience working in Machine Learning Platform initiatives.
• Experience working with time-series (exponential moving averages, forecasting, etc.)
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop and related.
• Knowledge of tree based algorithms (Random Forests, XGBoost, LightGBM).
• Knowledge of Deep Learning algorithms.
• Experience within the fraud detection, compliance and/or digital payments domains.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes.
• Be able to handle stakeholder’s expectations and push-back when necessary to ensure the success of the initiative.
• Be solution-oriented, and when issues arise, be able to roll up your sleeves and tackle them with a ‘get it done’ attitude.
