We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to lead our data science team and help drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. Data scientists at Vendavo are primarily focused on developing ML Algorithms that are embedded into Vendavo products. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in data science to drive innovative solutions for cutting edge problems within the pricing domain. You will work closely with Cross-functional teams and existing Vendavo Customers to drive analysis of large datasets, research and development of machine learning models. 

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative data science solutions that directly impact Vendavo’s product offerings and strategic decisions. This includes building advanced predictive models, optimization algorithms, and driving AI/ML adoption.
  • Define and lead the data science vision, strategy, and roadmap for the organization. This involves identifying high-impact opportunities where data science can add value across the business, from pricing strategies to customer analytics.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver data-driven insights that shape product development and enhance decision-making. Influence key stakeholders with data storytelling and actionable insights.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing data science team. Provide technical guidance, develop team members, and foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and experimentation.
  • Lead projects that scale Vendavo’s data capabilities, including architecting large-scale machine learning models and data pipelines. This role will focus on creating models that can handle large datasets and be deployed across diverse industries Vendavo serves.
  • Utilize the latest tools and techniques in data science, machine learning, and AI. This role offers the opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of technology and data advancements, including cloud-based platforms, big data processing, and AI-driven automation.
  • Drive measurable business outcomes by applying data science to optimize pricing strategies, customer behavior analysis, and revenue forecasting. Your work will have a direct impact on increasing profitability for Vendavo clients.

THE SKILL SET

  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring data science teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, and driving high performance.
  • Ability to align data science projects with business objectives, identifying opportunities for value creation and strategic impact.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, predictive modeling techniques, and machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, ensemble methods).
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages like Python and R for data manipulation, modeling, and visualization.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including proficiency in AWS SageMaker, for data storage, processing, and machine learning deployment.
  • Ability to tackle complex, ambiguous problems using analytical and creative approaches, transforming raw data into actionable insights and to communicate the insights through clear, impactful visualizations and storytelling.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple data science initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
