AI modelling Engineer - Permanent

5G has already entered reality, and the increasing network complexity has brought three major challenges to mobile network construction: 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G network overlays, complex network management beyond human effort; Massive MIMO, heterogeneous networking and other Technology and architecture have brought great challenges to the mining of network potential; the advent of 5G has expanded mobile network services, and at the same time, user experience management of multi-service networks has become more complex. To meet the challenge of network complexity, we need to deeply couple AI technology and mobile networks to create a mobile network with the best user experience, improve operational efficiency, and achieve "autonomous driving" mobile networks.

Huawei announced Dublin as the location for its new ICT Operation Competence Centre. The Centre will carry out pioneering R&D to lead the Telecom industry transformation towards Digital business, providing Intelligent (AI) systems and services to support such transformation and new business models.

The newly formed R&D team’s mission is to define and drive Huawei’s Intelligent Operations and Management System for coming Hybrid Cloud Telecom Networks, leverage the emerging technologies to improve the operation efficiency and define the next generation network O&M architecture (e.g. 5G O&M). We are offering an AI research consultant position on the autonomous network.

About the Position

The successful candidate will join our team to investigate and perform research work on Autonomous Network topics. More specifically, she/he will:

  • Identify the key technologies to enable the autonomous network
  • Apply state-of-the-art solutions to build a small scale POC on the topic
  • Work with our domain experts and other researchers to prepare deep dive reports

Requirements

  • PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, information technology with a focus on AI modelling or hands on industry experience in AI modelling.
  • Solid understanding of common programming languages used in AI, such as Python, and R.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical and algorithmic models as well as of fundamental mathematical concepts, such as linear algebra and probability
  • Familiarity with deep learning and machine learning algorithms and the use of popular AI/ML frameworks, such as Pytorch.
